Black rhino

Unlike the fairly docile white rhino, his 'black' cousin has attitude, you don't mess with these boys. A great day in the Masai Mara.

In the 4x4 with the local guide, he had spotted this rhino from about a mile away, don't know how they do that, incredible eye-sight. We drove to where we thought the rhino would be, but he and we were both caught by surprise - he came storming out of the bush to the left of us, then, when in front of the vehicle, turned. We thought he was about to charge but he changed his mind and trotted off. These animals are now so rare, it was a great privilege to have been able to get so close to one in the wild.

Great photographs. I suspect the guides track the mobile phone signals of the Rhinos.
