Another shot with the old Canonet, along the canal bank in Reading a few years ago. No batteries in these old cameras; they use the old selenium meter which is all around the lens. Of course the lens is a fixed focal length, 45mm/1.9.I was fascinated by the handrail so I played with the contrast after scanning the negative. FP4 film.

I love the strong blacks and whites, and all the visible details. Striking photo.
I love the perspective in this
The handrail is so strong against the dark building.
I love this photo the white lines in the dark photo.
Reminds that I've decided to fix my Canonet Q17 after pricing a replacement. I miss it for walking around street photography........
Classic!
I'm fascinated with the handrail as well John. Nice one. You are not showing your age re: the smoke on the water comment. The angled sun picks up on the swirling 'stuff' on the surface of the swamp.
oh that white railing totally makes this shot!
Fantastic B&W photgraph. The handrail and lamp tie it all together beautifully!
Now that's a good 'un!
Very strong image. The handrail really pops.
Nice work with the handrail..;-D
Very fine! These cameras of another day still haven't lost the 'touch'.
And you did well - a composition to remember.
belle photo et je vois que tu as un bel objectif 50mm, j'adore faire des photos avec cet objectif
